Hi can you tell me what the expected lifespan of an indesit washing machine is please. My machine is 12 months and 3 weeks old and has broken down and indesit are refusing to repair it as 3 weeks out of warranty . Thanks

Hi, Machines are tested for cycles and will last lets say 500,000 cycles or revolutions of the drum ( not an actual figure), before things start to fail.
If you have a couple using it as apposed to a family of 5, it is going to last longer for the couple. That ben said the machine does have to be fit for purpose in a domestic setting. if it is just out of warrantee you do have an argument under consumer law to argue that it wasnt fit for purpose but this of course would depend on the nature of the fault.

It might be worth calling them back and quoting your consumer rights to them and see if they change there tune.

If this doesnt work do an engineer search for one of our members and they will happily look at the repair for you. Obviously this will cost you but you will have a working machine and the evidence you may require to back up your claim with Indesit.
